Allison Leahy is the U.S. attorney general and the highly touted Democratic nominee for the presidency. Her opponent is Lincoln Howe, a retired 4-star army general and bona fide African-American hero. Both candidates are living the American dream, until their neck-and-neck campaign takes an ominous turn when Howe's 12-year-old granddaughter, Kristen, is kidnapped on her way to school. Now both candidates come under fire for exploiting the tragedy to their political advantage, and Allison must face her own painful past, when her own adopted baby daughter was abducted and never found.
